Intensive
Foster Care

Community Care Services’ Foster Care Program is known for its intensive foster care model. This program provides intensive therapeutic family care for what has been typically described as a group of “difficult to serve” children and adolescents. Community Care Services’ Intensive Foster Care Program has experience in offering:

·          support to families with a serious background of family violence

·          diversion from psychiatric hospitalization

·          transition from residential services

·          specialized care for parenting teens

·          disrupted adoption

Services are delivered by an integrated multi-disciplinary team of Community Care Services’ professionals, including social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, experienced management staff, and a network of specially trained foster parents. Foster parent to client ratio in intensive foster care is 1:1 at all times. At least one foster parent is always home to provide adequate supervision

Intensive Foster Care is in need of foster parents to provide 24-hour therapeutic care to children (ages 12-18) who cannot live at home due to previous neglect, emotional, physical, sexual abuse and/or current family crisis.

We provide a comprehensive network of supports for all foster care providers which includes:

·        24 hour on call support

·        Initial training (MAPP)

·        Educational training (20 hours a year)

·        Home-based support

·        Monthly support groups
